When you wash your hair, does your hair fall out everywhere? If you have ever wondered what you can do to improve this situation, here are five suggestions for washing your hair without damaging it. Try them out and see how the health of your hair improves.

5 tips for washing your hair

1. Do not wash your hair with cold water

Many people like to wash their hair with cold water during hot weather, especially after being outside for a long time. Rinsing with cold water may feel very good, but this habit is unsuitable for your hair.

There are a large number of capillaries in the scalp. After being stimulated by the heat, then followed by cold water, it causes the blood vessels to shrink rapidly, which decreases the oxygen supply to the hair follicles. This puts many hairs directly into a dormant state, resulting in hair loss.

2. Don’t wash your hair every day

Washing your hair too often is one of the leading causes of hair loss. Unless you have extremely oily hair, washing your hair every day is not recommended. If you must wash it daily, you can reduce the amount of shampoo and don’t wash it for a very long time.

3. Avoid cool air after you wash your hair

Wrapping your hair in a towel after washing is an excellent way to protect it from abrupt temperature changes.

This is similar to washing your hair in cold water. The scalp is susceptible to heat and cold, and the stimulation of hot then cold temperatures will lead to more hair loss. Households in many areas use air conditioning in the summer. Remember to dry your hair thoroughly when you return to an air-conditioned space, or wrap it in a towel to protect it from the temperature change.

4. Lather first, then apply shampoo

Pour the shampoo into the palm of your hand first and then lather it. The advantage to doing this is that before the shampoo touches your scalp, the foaming agents have already played their part, which prevents those agents from remaining on the scalp and causing hair loss. Lathering it first can also wash your hair more thoroughly. If you apply the shampoo directly onto your hair, more chemical residues will be left on the scalp.

5. Pay attention to the method of washing hair in the shower

When you wash your hair be sure not to stay under the water for very long.

When washing hair in the shower, staying under the water nozzle is comforting, but doing so is not suitable for your hair. When the force of the water is very strong, keeping your head under the water will lead to traction hair loss. This is amplified by the fact that the top of the head is most prone to hair loss.

The correct method is to lower your head slightly and start shampooing from the bottom of the head. The water should not be directed at the top of the head, and the force of the water should not be too strong.

Following these tips will help you protect against and reduce hair loss.
