A strange mystic and visionary named Wang Enqing predicted that China would face significant changes in 2026. The five stars on the Chinese Communist Party’s flag represent the five generations of party leaders, and there would be no sixth generation because the fifth and final generation of party leaders are the gravediggers. This is a brief resume of that same mysterious visionary.
Wang Enqing introduced to Beijing’s inner circles
Wang Enqing came from Wudalianchi City, Heilongjiang Province. He was well known in the 1990s among senior officials in Beijing for his profound and accurate prediction abilities. Two individuals introduced him to Beijing official circles: Li Jing, the former vice chairman of the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and He Xin, a famous scholar. He Xin is now a full-time member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Wang Enqing passed away in 1997. However, it was not until 2018, when He Xin and Li Jing respectively published reminiscent articles about Wang Enqing, that the wondrous stories of sage began to spread on the Internet.
Li Jing once served as the secretary of the municipal party committee of Wudalianchi. In 1990, when he first took office, he heard stories about a local “half-immortal” named Wang Enqing. The stories about Wang Enqing were so bizarre that they almost sounded like myths. At first, Li Jing just listened to it as after-dinner gossip. However, not long afterward, a strange car accident happened that made Li Jing look at this “half-immortal Wang” with admiration.
A multiple-vehicle accident was not a mere accident
Li Jing had a deputy mayor named Wang under him. Wang’s wife was the deputy director of the Justice Bureau. At that time, Mrs. Wang’s maiden family encountered some tribulations, so she went to Wang Enqing to seek a solution. As soon as Wang Enqing saw her, he said: “What happened to your maiden family is a trivial matter, but you will have a big disaster on a certain day of this month. You must not go out on that day. If you avoid this disaster, your maiden family’s problems will be solved.”
Mrs. Wang did not pay much attention to it and told her husband the story as a joke when she got home. However, Deputy Mayor Wang kept it in mind. With the day approaching, he half-jokingly told his wife to take the day off and not to go to work. Unexpectedly, Mrs. Wang received a notice from the Regional Justice Bureau that very day asking her to go to Heihe to report for duty. How dare she fail to carry out the order from above? So she called the driver and went to Heihe. On the way back, she encountered a car accident involving multiple vehicles. Everyone else was okay, but she was the only one who suffered injuries.
This incident spread in the local area. Li Jing felt that the situation was a bit superstitious, so he talked to Deputy Mayor Wang not to spread this nonsense everywhere. However, Deputy Mayor Wang admitted that this was true. Although Li Jing still could not believe it and thought it was just a coincidence, the name of Wang Enqing left a deep impression on him.
His predictions came under suspicion in state circles
Wang Enqing was a very mysterious person. No one could tell his origin. Everyone only knew that he made a living from farming and his family was very poor. He usually gave random advice to the villagers around him and did not take any money. At first, no one paid much attention or care, but later, they found out that what Wang Enqing said was entirely accurate. The stories about him became more and more legendary.
After the county’s Public Security Bureau learned about him, the bureau leaders became anxious. They suspected that Wang Enqing was a fake, so they sent two plainclothes officers to investigate him.
The plainclothes officers came to Wang Enqing with money and gifts, pretending to ask him for advice. They were preparing to arrest Wang as soon as he accepted their money and gifts. Unexpectedly, when Wang Enqing saw them, he said: “You have come to arrest me; let’s go, I’ll go with you. But I have not done anything illegal.” This made the two officers very embarrassed. When the leaders of the bureau found out about this, they decided to visit Wang Enqing in person. Both sides had a good chat during the meeting and later became friends.
Later, when a nearby prison heard about Wang Enqing’s unique abilities, they came to him to help capture their escaped prisoners. Wang Enqing told them in which direction to pursue the prisoners, and they would be heading in the right direction. On that day, a prison supervisor came to visit Li Jing and swore that Wang Enqing’s advice was 100 percent correct.
He accurately predicted the future of Li Jung
Although Li Jing was still skeptical, he became more and more interested in Wang Enqing, so he asked one of his men, Xiao Teng, to meet the “half-immortal.” Xiao Teng’s full name is Teng Zhenfu, and he is currently the Liaoning Provincial Writers Association chairman.
Xiao Teng approached Wang Enqing and asked him to predict the future of a relative in his hometown in Shandong. Then he took out a small piece of paper with Li Jing’s birthday and horoscope written on it.
Wang Enqing took the note and looked at it. He suddenly sneered and said: “This is not your relative from Shandong. This is the horoscope of our Municipal Party Secretary Li Jing.”
When Xiao Teng heard this, he took a deep breath and asked Wang Enqing respectfully: “Can you tell me about Secretary Li’s future?” Wang Enqing smiled and said: “The secret of Heaven must not be leaked, and this must be told to Secretary Li himself.” When Xiao Teng returned and reported, Li Jing could not sit still and decided to visit this “half-immortal” in person.
Li Jing saw that Wang Enqing was about 50 years old, slightly thin, with an everyday look, nothing special. After the two met, they did not exchange pleasantries and went straight to the topic. Wang Enqing knew everything about Li Jing’s situation, including some very private things, and the latter was utterly stunned.
The topic quickly turned to the future issue that Li Jing was most concerned about. Wang Enqing said: “With all due respect, no matter how good you are at your job, you will not be promoted again in this province, and within three years, you will move your family south.”
Li Jing’s hometown was in Beijing, and he came to Heilongjiang as an educated youth. However, he lived quite well in Heilongjiang then, so he never considered returning. However, not long after Wang Enqing’s prediction, something happened that Li Jing thought was quite unfair. He could not help it and fell out with the new superior leader. It seems that Li Jing could no longer stay in Heilongjiang and felt very depressed.
At this time, Wang Enqing came to comfort him and told him not to be depressed. He told Li Jing that someone would come from Beijing in the next two days and told him to entertain the person well.
This distinguished guest from Beijing was He Xin. With the help of He Xin, Li Jing was transferred back to Beijing three months later. Sure enough, the family moved south. Wang Enqing’s prediction came true.
On the day before leaving, Wang Enqing came to see him off and stuffed a note into Li Jing’s hand, saying that his “ultimate destination is literature and art.” After Li Jing returned to Beijing, he abandoned politics and became a writer.
How could he possibly know the past and the future?
He Xin started to form an indissoluble bond with Wang Enqing because of this incident. He Xin’s trip to Wudalianchi that day was purely impromptu. He turned around halfway through the inspection without informing the local officials. Unexpectedly, as soon as they entered the guest house of the Municipal Party Committee, someone came up and said: “Secretary Li Jing of the Municipal Party Committee has been waiting for you here for a long time.” This surprised He Xin. “How could Li Jing predict this?”
Li Jing smiled and said: “Because we have an expert here who can know the past and the future.”
Li Jing then brought He Xin to visit Wang Enqing. As soon as Wang Enqing saw He Xin, he said that He Xin was not an ordinary person and often “went in and out of the Forbidden City.” Everyone present was shocked. The two then talked secretly behind closed doors for a long time. After that, He Xin invited Wang Enqing to Beijing. Wang Enqing expressed his gratitude, but said these words: “When I met you, my door to Heaven opened, but it might also be the door to hell.” He Xin did not understand it at the time, and it wasn’t until Wang Enqing passed away that he understood the meaning.
A medical miracle brings friends together
After returning to Beijing, He Xin arranged for his friend Xu Rongxiang to pick up Wang Enqing. Xu Rongxiang is a legend in the medical world. The plaster he invented to treat burns can heal patients’ wounds quickly without leaving scars. This can be said to be a miracle medicine.
He Xin’s right hand once suffered third-degree burns, which were extremely severe. Initially, the doctor wanted to perform surgery on him but said that not only would there be a lot of scars left after the surgery, but it might also affect the function of his right hand. Later, his hand was cured by Xu Rongxiang’s 10-yuan plaster; as expected, no scars were left, which was a true miracle. Later, the two became close friends.
Since ancient times, many folk remedies have been particularly effective in treating complicated diseases. Isn’t there a saying that goes: “A small folk remedy will make famous doctors angry?” Although Xu Rongxiang’s little folk remedy is a medical wonder, its marvelous effect also attracted a lot of jealousy and criticism. He was often referred to as a charlatan.
When he met Wang Enqing, Xu Rongxiang was entangled in lawsuits and faced a lot of trouble. But Wang Enqing told him not to worry, saying: “All the troubles will be over. China won’t be able to tolerate you, and you will have to leave. You will eventually die happily.”
In 1996, Xu Rongxiang left China and went to the United States to develop his skills, and he did very well. Unfortunately, one day in 2015, when Xu Rongxiang was eating, he laughed while talking. The food got stuck in his throat; he could not breathe and was choked to death. This is precisely what Wang Enqing said back then, saying that he would die happily.
The predicted death of Hou Baolin
Wang Enqing also accurately predicted the death of Hou Baolin, the leader of Xiangsheng or crosstalk circles, even though the prediction became valid many years later.
Hou Baolin’s son, Hou Yaowen, once visited Wang Enqing. Hou Yaowen was also a crosstalk master. He became famous in the early 1990s. Wang Enqing did not know of him because there was no TV signal in Wudalianchi City at that time, Wang Enqing never watched TV anyway, so he did not realize that there was such a famous figure as Hou Yaowen.
When Hou Yaowen saw that Wang Enqing did not know him, he started to tease him. He asked Wang Enqing: “Do you know what I do?” Wang Enqing answered: “You are a person who lives by using your mouth and selling your words.” Hou Yaowen asked again: “What else can you see?”
Wang Enqing squinted his eyes and looked at him carefully for a while before saying: “Don’t be upset if I tell you something. You will be mourning shortly. Just prepare yourself. Your old man may pass away on the first day of the New Lunar Year, but will not outlive the fifteenth day.”
Hou Baolin was already suffering from stomach cancer at that time. However, when everyone saw him on TV on the first day of the new lunar year, he still looked excellent; his face was rosy, and he was in good spirits. He Xin muttered while watching the TV that Wang Enqing’s prediction might not work this time. Looking at Hou Baolin’s condition, there is no problem in living for another 15 days.
It was not expected that, just on the 13th day of the first lunar month, Hou Baolin suddenly passed away. Sure enough, he could pass the first day of the new lunar year, but did not pass the 15th day. Wang Enqing was correct once again.
The ‘gate’ of life and death that he had to pass through
As a result of so many accurate predictions, Wang Enqing’s reputation quickly spread, even to Hong Kong. A boss named Ning in Hong Kong invited him for a meeting. Wang Enqing told Ning to wait until after the Dragon Boat Festival because he (Wang Enqing) had to pass a “gate” during the Dragon Boat Festival. After passing it, his life would go smoothly for the rest of his life. If he cannot pass it, he will die of illness. Whether he can get by or not is fate.
On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, they arrived. Nothing happened until dark. Wang Enqing was very happy and went to a nearby temple to chat with the host in the evening. Unexpectedly, because it was a festival that day, the temple was full of incense during the day, so a thief was attracted, and the incense money was stolen. The police came to investigate the case and locked the front door.
Since the front door was locked, Wang Enqing had to take the back door. The so-called back door is a small hole in the wall of the backyard. Wang Enqing was familiar with the temple, so he knew that he could get in through this tiny hole. Unexpectedly, as soon as he entered, he was beaten violently by the new security guard, who thought that he was a thief. With the beating, he suffered internal injuries. It was not the security guard’s fault: if he was not a thief, why would he enter using the small gap in the dark?
Wang Enqing did not complain because everything was fated. After being sent to the hospital, he refused to be admitted or undergo surgery. He passed away after staying at home for a few days. He left his last words saying that God should punish him for leaking the secrets of Heaven throughout his life. Although he had a lot of friends who were high-ranking officials, he still refused help from all his friends. He even left a message to He Xin asking him not to take care of his family in the future.
The supernatural world of qigong
When qigong was popular in the 1980s and 1990s, a large number of people with supernatural abilities, like Wang Enqing, emerged. It was even more popular in the high-ranking official circles in Beijing to ask qigong masters to release qi to heal diseases or provide guidance for the future. However, all these are classified as “state secrets” to the general public.
Whether there is Wang Enqing’s prediction of the end of communist rule in China in 2026 among these state secrets, we have not yet been able to find reliable information to prove whether there is or not. However, He Xin said this very implicitly in his reminiscence article: “The most bizarre thing is that some of the things Wang Enqing said at that time came true many years later.” His magical prophecies also had a significant impact on He Xin.
He said with emotion: “The existence of this world and its mysteries are far more complex and mysterious than what our senses perceive and understand rationally. Is there a specific number in everything? And is the universe just a game designed by some super-intelligent being? We are just a few tiny chess pieces that have existed in the game! Human beings, in front of the mysterious Creator, could be more smart and great.”
