An interview with Fei Liangyong, Chairman of the Asian Democracy Forum
In anticipation of World Falun Dafa Day on May 13, commemorating when the ancient teachings of Falun Dafa were first introduced to the public, Fei Liangyong, Chairman of the Asian Democracy Forum and the Forum for a Democratic China (FDC), spoke about the significance of the peaceful practice and discussed how the practice has been bringing hope to humankind. The following is a summary of Fei’s comments.
Bringing hope to people everywhere
Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, has spread around the globe for 30 years and has had a positive impact on the world. Since Teacher Li first introduced the practice to the public, the practice has brought hope to people everywhere, guiding practitioners in uplifting their morality, doing good deeds, cultivating their character, improving their health, and purifying their minds. By adhering to Falun Dafa’s Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance principles, people have improved their character, personality, and health.
Over the past 30 years, Falun Dafa practice groups have brought humanity a new sense of hope. Though society is continually degenerating, by telling the truth, doing good deeds, and tolerating others as much as possible, the practice gives an anecdote for avoiding the world’s disasters.
During the forthcoming World Falun Dafa Day, I would like to congratulate Teacher Li and wish him a Happy Birthday! I also hope the practice can keep spreading worldwide to bring even more hope to people and benefit even more of humanity.
Since the practice was first introduced on May 13, 1992, it has spread to over 100 countries, with hundreds of millions of people have practiced it, which is a remarkable event. However, the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) started persecuting Falun Dafa in 1999, and Jiang Zemin declared that it would be eliminated in three months. Now, 22 years have passed, and Falun Dafa is still here. I believe that if we could look 3,000 years into the future, we would see that the CCP no longer exists, but the practice will still be standing in the world.
Toward betterment versus authoritarian violence
Unlike the CCP’s atheism, where there is no introspection or fear of committing wrongdoing, Falun Dafa leads people toward betterment, asking them to be kind, have a high moral standard, and respect Heaven. Meanwhile, the CCP implements authoritarian violence against the people, harming people without the slightest bit of restraint, morality, or sympathy.
This so-called scientific communism advocates three main points: class struggle, violent revolution, and class dictatorship. In short, it provokes human slaughter and allows the cruel oppression and exploitation of civilians by autocratic rulers, which is a terrible thing.
If everyone followed the principles of Falun Dafa, the world’s people would be morally uplifted to do good things and not harm others, making the world a more peaceful place. The practice’s teachings are straightforward and anyone is welcome to practice if they wish to do so, and the practice is always free of charge. The CCP, by contrast, is a cult spreading lies.
For example, the CCP slandered Teacher Li for accumulating wealth by selling books. The truth is, Falun Dafa’s books can be downloaded online for free. How can you make money with free downloadable books? None of the Falun Dafa friends I know hoard money or are blinded by a lust for gain. Even though the CCP has smeared and vilified Falun Dafa practitioners by spreading lies and propaganda, it has still failed to provide an example of practitioners harming others.
If all people could be the same as Falun Dafa practitioners, I believe human beings’ lives would be happier, and there would be no more wars affecting the world.
The dictatorship that is the CCP will not exist for long, but the practice will last forever. Therefore, when the CCP is over, Falun Dafa will develop in China very quickly, widely, and sustainably.
