It’s all coming full circle; bewildered by superstition, spooked by ghosts, and afraid of their own shadows, CCP officials secretly revert to feng shui in vain hopes that their ancestors will save them.
On March 21, 2024, the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision released a message saying that two officials who are brothers had been fired by the Communist Party of China (CCP). Both of them are directors. They are suspected of severe violations of discipline and law.
They seemed to take the initiative to confess their “problems.” However, the authorities did not specify what laws and discipline they were accused of violating, how severe their problems were, or what problems they confessed to.
Superstitious minds
The local people said the brothers paid great attention to their family and feng shui, and their ancestors blessed them. The brothers were in charge of the Party in their local area, and the feng shui of their ancestral tomb was said to be good. Locals have summed up the brother’s rise and fall: “When I was in the early days of my career, firecrackers were blasting in unison, and gongs and drums were noisy.
“My relatives and friends also followed suit, and they accumulated virtue for eight generations. Unexpectedly, I found myself in trouble! I was on the wrong team! Now, there is also a problem with the feng shui of the ancestral tomb, and coincidentally, I was investigated on the same day.”
The CCP top brass obsess over the feng shui of their ancestors
They believe that the fortunes of CCP officials depend on their ancestors’ feng shui. This trend amongst CCP officials is not only happening at the grass-roots level; there are many followers above at the ministerial and even national levels. They are now appealing to Heaven and the virtue of their ancestors for good fortune and survival. For a regime built on atheism, hatred of God, and all things traditional, this trend is ironic.
Many media have reported early on, as Li Qiang became the second-ranking member of the CCP Central Committee Politburo Standing Committee last year, that his ancestral house in Dongao Village, Ruian County in Zhejiang Province, was sealed off for its protection and preservation. Iron fences surrounded the village, all roads to the ancestral house were guarded 24/7, and anyone who came near to take pictures was driven away.
The flat ground in front of the ancestral house is full of surveillance equipment, and no one can get close. The ancestral tomb is also guarded 24/7. Outsiders are strictly prohibited from approaching the tomb of Li’s mother and the tomb of the ancestors of the Li family.
Atheists in public, but secretly beg Heaven for help
Although the CCP requires Party officials to embrace atheism fully, Party officials have a long history of believing in feng shui, worshiping Buddhas, and invoking ghosts to protect their fortune. As early as the Great Patriotic War of the Republic of China against the Communist Party, Mao Zedong secretly ordered the local guerrilla forces to destroy the feng shui of Chiang Kai-shek’s ancestral house in the Fenghua District in Zhejiang. Later, Chiang Kai-shek was defeated, and the tomb of Chiang Kai-shek’s mother was turned into a scenic spot trampled on by tourists. Many Party officials of the CCP also visited the mountain to look at feng shui.
Ancestral tomb worship: the worship of death
All societies and cultures honor their ancestors; many pray for eternal happiness and comfort. The Chinese communist regime has no such belief in the hereafter. So what is the basis for their fetish with graveyards and non-existent ancestors? Their obsession with tombs and graveyards can be seen as merely the worship of death. Zhou Yongkang and Guo Boxiong are examples of people who pinned their fortunes on their ancestral tombs in recent times.
Caixin, a Chinese media group based in Beijing, once disclosed that before Zhou Yongkang was dismissed, his family’s ancestral tomb received special treatment. The ancestral tomb of the Zhou family is hundreds of meters away from the north of the village. It was initially an earthen tomb silently submerged in a mulberry forest. Insiders said that at some point, there were more and more black cars with outside license plates driving people to the ancestral tomb of the Zhou family to pay homage.
Local legends say that in the 1990s, when Zhou Yongkang was in Beijing, he asked an old monk to read his fortune, and the old monk said he had good fortune. However, after becoming a Party insider, he only became a deputy when the CCP ousted him. It was believed that there was a problem with his ancestral tomb. Zhou Yongkang called his brother several times and told him to repair the tomb.
Deliberate sabotage of ancestral tombs
On a rainy night in the autumn of 2009, it was suddenly discovered that someone had dug a hole through the ancestral tomb of the Zhou family. This became a sensation. Not only was the Wuxi police of the CCP alerted, but also the Jiangsu Provincial Public Security Department, the Shanghai Public Security Bureau, and even the Ministry of Public Security, as if they were facing a formidable enemy. Since then, the CCP police have installed electronic camera probes around the Zhou family’s ancestral tomb and at the two intersections leading to the tomb.
Zhou Yongkang was ousted in 2014 and later sentenced to life imprisonment. Relatives of the Zhou family said: “It is because the ancestral tomb was destroyed.”
No escape from fate
According to Hong Kong’s Phoenix Weekly, Wu Fangfang, the daughter-in-law of Guo Boxiong, former vice chairman of the CCP’s Central Military Commission, also believes in feng shui. Before Guo Boxiong was expelled from the Communist Party, Wu Fangfang invited a feng shui master to the cemetery of the Guo family’s ancestral house in Liquan County, Shaanxi Province, to look at the feng shui. She also asked the feng shui master about the destiny of his father-in-law, Guo Boxiong. From the feng shui master’s calculation, he said: “The old man has auspicious signs, and everything is fine.”
Wu Fangfang did not know that she had consulted a fake feng shui master and was deceived. An absolute feng shui master would not casually reveal a person’s misfortune, and even if he were to tell the truth, he might be smashed by the Guo family. Whatever it is, Guo Boxiong could not escape his fate in the end.
In June 2015, the CCP’s media, People’s Daily, revealed in an article that CCP officials believe in ghosts and gods and are obsessed with fortune-telling, praying to gods, and worshipping Buddhas. The article cited examples, such as some office buildings without 4th, 13th, and 14th floors, some office desks and chairs placed according to orientation based on feng shui, and some officials placed stone beasts and “transfer luck stones” on their desks. The names of some places have been changed because of “bad luck,” and some projects have been built according to the advice of feng shui masters. Some buildings have been demolished because of feng shui.
Obsessed with rituals, charms, ghosts and spells
Although the CCP vigorously enforces communism and atheism on the people and viciously suppresses belief in God, its officials are riddled with superstition and believe in feng shui, burning incense, “worshipping Buddha,” and praying for “blessings.” During the Asian Games in Hangzhou last year, Lingyin Temple was found to house the national games tablets of today’s CCP.
Officials of all ranks, such as Hu Jianxue, former secretary of the Tai’an City Municipal Party Committee in Shandong, did not hesitate to spend vast sums of money to build a bridge over the lake to feng shui’s suggestions; Ding Yangning, former secretary of the Zhenghe County Party Committee of Fujian Province, set up a “tower construction office” in the county to raise funds from the ordinary people to build temples and pagodas. There are endless similar incidents.
Feng shui has a long tradition in China. The world’s superior feng shui is based on virtue, merit, righteousness, kindness, and a good heart. It only works for humans. So isn’t it just a matter of time before the CCP, with all its demonic and atheistic officials who are obsessed with incantations to ghouls and evils to protect their ill-gotten fortunes, will meet with ghosts one day?
Without the will of Heaven, nothing turns out good
The CCP, having caused the deaths of over 80 million Chinese people, is now coming to realize that they can have nothing good without the will of Heaven. If the ancestors of CCP officials were ever mothers and fathers of virtue and goodness, how can they stand the evil that has become of their offspring? If their ancestral mothers that toiled for them are disgusted with them, how would they want to bless this regime with good fortune and happiness? Isn’t that a joke?
If Heaven is disgusted with their mockery, if the Buddha that they pray to is revolted by them, iron bars placed around ancestral homes and tombs cannot save them. Their clandestine practice of feng shui and the Buddhas they pray to are a witness against them, and they will reap what they sow.
