Life is precious. Every moment is a gift. So when you can ignore something, control your temper and choose not to get angry. When you can laugh heartily, avoid frowning.
Who benefits when your temper flares and you get angry?
Often, anger only harms you. Once the initial frustration fades, you realize the things that upset you weren’t so significant after all. We waste precious time letting our tempers run wild and getting angry. Arguments ruin our mood and harm our bodies. When faced with unpleasant situations, console yourself promptly. When dealing with people who make you unhappy, keep your distance. If you can ignore someone, turn a blind eye.
A broad mind leads to a wide path
Some arguments are meaningless and only hurt both parties involved. When you stop caring about malicious voices, you’ll live more comfortably.
Imagine a wise landlady who can block out noise and live freely. She has a gentle personality, while her husband has a bit of a temper. You might often hear her husband loudly venting his dissatisfaction. Even in his sixties, he argues with his wife over trivial matters. If the rice is a bit hard, he starts yelling.
Once, Mr. A asked the landlady how she could tolerate her husband’s bad temper. She said she covers her ears and ignores him when he throws a tantrum. If she can’t take it, she plays cards with her friends or takes a walk, leaving him alone. “If I got angry with him, wouldn’t we fight?”
We can’t always control what we hear, but we can decide when to cover our ears. Getting angry is punishing yourself for someone else’s mistakes. Those who can smile and let things go are truly wise. When you see things clearly, your mind becomes more peaceful and happier when you stop holding grudges.
Be kind to yourself by not getting angry
A study observed 35 breast cancer patients with metastasis and found that those who maintained a cheerful mood had an average survival time of 22.8 months, while those with negative emotions had an average survival time of only 8.6 months. Maintaining a good mood can be a powerful remedy against cancer to some extent.
If we consider an average lifespan of 78 years and subtract the time spent on work, socializing, and chores, the time genuinely belonging to you is only about nine short years. Make sure to get angry less often to have better health.
When you’re in a lousy mood, release it in your way without hurting others. Let go of things that don’t matter. Life should be beautiful and gentle; don’t let a furrowed brow overshadow your radiant smile. The calmer your temper, the greater your blessings.
