The 10th Neihu Midsummer Music Festival was held on the Sunshine Lawn of Taipei City’s Dahu Park on the evenings of August 9-10, 2025. Attended by hundreds of locals and international friends with their families, this unique midsummer concert offered a feast of music and a vibrant arts-and-culture bazaar, all in the spirit of public welfare and community enrichment.
History of the Neihu Midsummer Music Festival
Every summer, Taipei Neihu Community College and the Neihu District Office present the Neihu Midsummer Music Festival at Dahu Park, inviting residents, students, and visitors to gather for two evenings of music and cultural exchange. Since its inception, the festival has sought to showcase the talents of community members while welcoming professional musicians to share the stage, creating an inclusive platform for artistic expression.

Over the years, it has evolved into one of the district’s most anticipated seasonal events, featuring a rich mix of musical genres — from classical ensembles and jazz bands to traditional folk performances — set against the park’s serene lake and lush greenery. Adding to its appeal is an international flair, with foreign drum teams, dance troupes, and other cultural groups taking the stage to give audiences a taste of global music and dance traditions right in the heart of Neihu.

Since 2022, the festival has been distinguished by its “stage performances” and “festive booths,” infusing the community with artistic and cultural vitality in the post-pandemic era. In 2023, the “green sustainability market” and diverse music performances were introduced, expanding the event’s appeal across age groups. By 2024, the festival had grown into a three-day celebration featuring themes such as the “green sustainability market” and “summer arts,” successfully attracting both families and music lovers to join in the summer festivities.

Cultural and international highlights
The 2025 edition of the Neihu Midsummer Music Festival was more dynamic than ever. From the Sunshine Lawn of Dahu Park, the concert lit up the midsummer night sky, weaving music, laughter, and starlight into memories that will be treasured long after the season fades.

Held on August 9, the festival partnered with the Green Life Sustainable Market to deliver a memorable night of music, dance, and cultural experiences. Audiences were treated to performances by the Formosa Steel Drum Orchestra, St. Christopher’s Dance Ensemble, Taiwan-Vietnam Dance Troupe, World Dance Ensemble, talented guitarists, as well as a gifted violinist and vocalist. There were sixteen themed booths, including those focused on culture, art, and environmental education.

International exchange was a special highlight this year. Donya Lynex Francis, Ambassador of St. Christopher and Nevis to Taiwan, joined the Formosa Steel Drum Orchestra on stage and warmly engaged with the audience. The event also welcomed Shebby-Ann S.C. Dennie, Counselor of the Embassy of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in Taiwan, who attended to celebrate the first anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Kingstown and Taipei. Their participation added a rich international flair, deepening the festival’s spirit of cultural sharing and friendship.

A warm summer night for families
The celebration continued on August 10 with the theme “Love, Family Midsummer Night,” featuring lively parent–child games, multiple music stages, and exciting lucky draws, creating a warm, family-friendly summer evening. Set against the scenic backdrop of Dahu Park — famous for its serene lake, lush mountains, and easy access via the MRT Wenhu Line — the event provided the perfect setting for the public to enjoy music, art, and nature in the heart of summer.

Once again, the Neihu Midsummer Music Festival shared the beauty of arts and culture in everyday life, inviting residents and friends from all walks of life to savor a cultural feast through music and diverse performances. This free and welcoming concert has become a summer highlight, not only revitalizing the local community, but also allowing more people to experience the charm and cultural richness of Taipei. Both the audience and performers praised the event’s outstanding musical quality and diverse program, while its thoughtful design fostered a genuine sense of joy and connection that music brings.
